ILE OODUA announces the glorious transition of Queen Mariani Adeyemi Ogunwusi the paternal Grandmother of Arole Oodua and Ooni of Ife, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi (Ojaja II).
Survived by her only surviving son Prince Oluropo Ogunwusi and twelve grandchildren, the king’s grandmother who had earlier lost her second child Prince Isaac Olufemi Ogunwusi and her husband Prince Olaobaju Joseph Ogunwusi in 1995 and 1998 respectively died at exactly 4:30am in house at Ile-Ife at the ripe age of 104 years.
It’s noteworthy to state that the late Queen Ogunwusi fondly called MAMA ALASO might have had the premonition of her death as she had in the last one month been placing Kabiyesi Ooni’s picture on her chest either while sleeping or sitting always quoted saying “OLORUN O MA SEUN O TI O JE KI ALA OGOJI ODUN WA SI IMUSE L’OJU EMI MI. MO TI WA SE TAN LATI PADA S’ODO RE BAYII O, KI N’ LE SO FUN OKO MI PE ASOTELE ODUN 1974 TI SELE O” GOD I THANK YOU FOR MAKING ME ALIVE TO WITNESS A DREAM OF OVER FORTY YEARS, AM NOW READY TO RETURN TO YOU IN HEAVEN FOR AN ETERNITY AND BE ABLE TO TELL MY HUSBAND OF THIS MANIFESTATION OF OUR 1974 DREAM”
The remains of Olori Marian Ogunwusi, the late grandmother of Ooni of Ife, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II will be interred in the ancient City of Ile-Ife on Saturday 23rd April 2916.
The funeral activities will be on Friday 22nd April 2016 begin with a service of songs at Oduduwa College Ile-Ife by 4:30pm to be followed by the funeral service 11am on Saturday 23rd April 2016at the St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Aiyegbaju, Ile-Ife, while Her remains will be interred at the church cemetery with Reception and entertainment for the invited guests at the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital (OAUTH), Ground, Phase 2, Gate, Ile-Ife.
The late matriarch of Ogunwusi Royal family and wife of late Prince Joseph Ogunwusi died on Febuary 8th at the ripe age of 104. A devoted Christian, generously accommodating community leader and loving mother of her children mama is survived by a child Prince Oluropo Ogunwusi father of Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II and eleven other grandchildren including a London based Prince Adegboyega Ogunwusi and Lekki based Prince Adetunji Ogunwusi.
