A Historic Day
The 51st Ooni of Ife
On 7 December 2015, Oba Adeyeye Babatunde Enitan Ogunwusi was installed as the 51st Ooni of Ife at the Ile Oodua Palace in Ile-Ife, Osun State, Nigeria. At 41 years of age, he became the youngest Ooni to ascend the sacred throne in over 600 years.
The ceremony brought together traditional rulers from across Yorubaland, dignitaries from the federal and state governments, members of the Yoruba diaspora, and thousands of Ile-Ife residents — a historic moment in the two-thousand-year-old dynasty of Oduduwa.
